Pier Superintendent’s License is Revoked For Dishonesty during Waterfront Commission Interview and Hearing

Anthony Furina Jr’s license to work as a Pier Superintendent has been revoked by the Waterfront Commission after it was established he lacks the requisite good character and integrity for a Pier Superintendent.

Furina, Jr. had been arrested September 1, 2008 in Belmar, New Jersey for Improper Behavior/Fighting and Resisting Arrest. Furina, Jr. pleaded guilty in Municipal Court to disorderly conduct in violation of a Belmar Local Ordinance.

At an Article 4 interview about the incident and at his hearing, the Administrative Law Judge found that Furina, Jr’s “willingness to be deceitful and make material misrepresentations” about the Belmar incident “are a sufficient predicate for revocation of his pier superintendent license.”  The Commissioners unanimously agreed with the Judge’s recommendation and Furina, Jr.’s Pier Superintendent license was ordered revoked.
